Global Demographics’ online database and apps provide forecasts of the demographic profile of 117 countries, 31 Provinces and 625 cities in China. The forecasts from 2021 to 2045 (with historic data from 2005) include the basic demographic profile (age, by gender), births, deaths, migration, households, labour force, household income distribution and expenditure patterns.
The Company was formed in 1997 (as Asian Demographics Ltd) and has been building its databases, forecast models, and reports since then – originally for countries in Asia and then, as a result of client demand, for countries throughout the world. After 25 years of development, the coverage is now 117 countries and also China and India (each being around 20% of the world’s population) by sub regions (in the case of China down to all 2,852 counties)
The databases are comprehensive in their coverage, extending beyond basic demographics. They provide profiles of households, lifecycle stages of the population, labour force, education of the population and workforce, household income distribution, and how that money is spent by income level. Thus, they provide a unique single-source profile of the future nature of the consumer aspects of each economy.
The databases, forecast models and forecast process (described in greater detail on the page titled ‘methodology’ are proprietary to Global Demographics Ltd. The models are continuously improved, and the equations are re-estimated every time new data is added to a country/region data file.

OURSELVES
We are a small group of individuals who specialize in data preparation, analysis, and interpretation. Depending on where the required expertise is located, we are located in several different countries. All of us have been with the company for at least ten years. We are used to working remotely but closely, as we extensively use networking technology such as Microsoft Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
OUR CLIENTS
Obviously, who they are is confidential to them and us, but they can be summarized as biased toward large multinational consumer goods and services companies.
We have just over 2,000 clients of varying sizes and relationships with us. Many have been clients with us since the company was established in its first three years. Our clients’ consumer product and service focus is a function of the type of information we provide—specifically, how the consumer will change over time.
